These photos were taken at home, in mid afternoon in what should have been broad daylight, on December 14th 2006, during the bushfires.  Ash was falling on Sale, and the sky seemed to boil with fire, although the nearest flames were in the mountains nearly 100km away.  It was truly surreal.
